Walk a city with a guide in your pocket

Self-guided walking tours for iPhone, with a spoken guide.

Pick a city or town, how long you want to walk and what you want to see. The app plans a route through the sights, then guides you from stop to stop, turn by turn. At each stop and on the walks between them, the guide tells you the stories of the place. Every fact comes from a source the app can quote.

Walking Tours is in testing and is not yet on the App Store.

Email from us

We send email only when you ask for it: a 6-digit code to back up your tours, or to restore them on a new iPhone. We never send marketing email, and we never share your address.

Your data

• Your name, your email address, your tours, your progress and your photos stay on your iPhone.
• If you turn on backup, we use your email address to send you a code, and we keep only a coded form of it (not the address itself), with your list of tours and your progress, to restore them. You can delete your backup in the app at any time.
• To make a tour, we send the city, the length, your choices and, if you ask for it, your start point to our servers and to Anthropic's Claude, which writes the guide. Tours that anyone can make are kept for 30 days and can be shown to other users.
• When you share a route, the link and a picture of the route are public for 30 days.
• The app uses your location on your iPhone to guide you. It sends your location to us only as the start point of a tour, when you choose "My location".
